Sculptra in Busan, Seomyeon.
The original PLLA, collagen over years,
not weeks.
Sculptra is Galderma's original PLLA (poly-L-lactic acid) collagen stimulator — FDA-approved since 2004 and used worldwide for deep volume restoration and long-term skin rejuvenation. Unlike temporary fillers, Sculptra results last 2+ years as your own collagen rebuilds the face's foundational volume.

What is Sculptra?
Collagen in slow motion, for 2+ years.
Sculptra is Galderma's original PLLA (poly-L-lactic acid) collagen stimulator — first FDA-approved in 2004 and now used in over 30 countries for both cosmetic rejuvenation and HIV-related facial wasting. It contains microparticles of the same absorbable material used in surgical sutures for decades. Once injected into deep tissue, PLLA stimulates a gradual fibroblast response that builds structural collagen over 3–6 months. Results emerge slowly but last 24+ months — significantly longer than hyaluronic acid filler.
The science
,
simplified.
Understanding the mechanism helps you set realistic expectations and choose the right brand for your goals.
Volume loss mapping
the treating physician evaluates global facial volume loss — temples, cheeks, jawline. Sculptra is ideal for diffuse volume restoration, not localized contouring (use HA filler for that).
Topical numbing
Numbing cream is applied for 15 minutes before treatment. Numbing and comfort measures are selected according to the treatment plan and medical assessment.
Strategic placement
Sculptra is placed at an appropriate tissue depth according to facial anatomy and the treatment plan. The treating physician determines technique, amount, and post-treatment massage instructions.
Instant result, 2-week settling
Early swelling can temporarily change appearance after treatment; Sculptra's intended collagen-building effect develops gradually over time.
Where we inject
,
and why.
Each area has its own anatomical target, typical volume, and result timeline. The treating physician determines whether Sculptra is appropriate and plans the amount for your anatomy and goals.
| Treatment Area | Ideal Indication | Typical Dose | Visible In |
|---|---|---|---|

| Jawline | Jowls, lower face deflation | 1–2 vials | 8–12 weeks |
