The masseter muscle
The masseter is a square-shaped muscle that connects your cheekbone to your lower jaw. When overdeveloped (from chewing habits, teeth grinding, or genetics), it creates a wide, angular jawline.
Botox injection
At Newline Clinic, a physician injects small doses of botulinum toxin into the masseter muscle at precise anatomical points. Typical dose: 25–50 units per side, depending on muscle size.
Gradual muscle atrophy
The muscle gradually shrinks from reduced use over 2–4 weeks. Your jawline appears narrower and softer, creating the coveted V-line silhouette.
Maintenance
Effect lasts 4–6 months. First repeat treatment is usually done at 4 months; subsequent treatments can be spaced to every 6–8 months as the muscle stays smaller over time.
